On Friday 3rd June, 16 runners and walkers completed the gruelling 35 miles from Appleton in Cheshire to Wrexham in Wales.  The runners/walkers all  supporters of Warrington Wolves Rugby League, were fund raising for Tom and Antony who were both seriously wounded in Afghanistan in 2010.  Tom was shot and Antony was blown up in an I.E.D. explosion.  The run/walk was in bright sunshine and the temperature reached over 82 degrees Fahrenheit, they were kept well hydrated by bottled water and Herbalife sports energy drinks – H30 Pro and Lift Off.

The route was from Appleton – through Preston Brook, Frodsham, Tarvin, Chester City Centre, Handbridge, Marford and then onto Wrexham Rugby League Stadium (old Wrexham Racecourse).

At the Stadium the runners /walkers watched Warrington Wolves beat Wrexham Crusaders with a score of 56 to 16. Halfway through the match medals were presented.

To have completed the course in such hot weather was such a brilliant achievement  and all the runners/walkers/helpers should be congratulated.  I really hope enough funds were raised for the charities and if you would still like to send a donation, please phone Ste on 07748113595
